TAKE BACK CHICAGO event at UIC Forum October 15, six p.m.

If there is one event in October 2013 that everyone concerned about Chicago's public schools should be at, it's "Take Back Chicago" at the University of Illinois Forum. With major events looming, including elections, a broad coalition of labor and community groups will be planning action to take power back for the community and working people and away from the plutocrats.

Photo from Chicago Teachers Union.Chicago Teachers Union members are working to build our political strength to lead our schools and city in a new direction. On October 15, thousands of community activists from organizations across the city will define a vision of the City that our People Deserve. By a vote of the union's House of Delegates, the CTU stands united with our communities to lay out the issues and demands that elected officials will have to support as we fight to take back Chicago.

The CTU has established a Facebook page, too, for this event. https://www.facebook.com/events/222603584575544/.

Chicago working families have the opportunity to come together and fight back -- against the corporate agenda that works to close our schools, shut down our clinics, eliminate living wage jobs and dismantle affordable housing. Be sure to wear CTU Red!
