'CPS reneged on location...' Teachers for Social Justice Curriculum Fair changes location to Kenwood High School after CPS stops fair at King High School... Date is still November 17

TSJ, Teachers for Social Justice, has changed the location of its annual curriculum fair for this year. The event will be at Kenwood Academy High School on November 17 (next Saturday) all day.

NEW LOCATION: KENWOOD ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL, 5015 S. BLACKSTONE (50TH AND BLACKSTONE AVE), CHICAGO. SAME TIME AND DATE: SATURDAY, NOV. 17, 10-5.

The CPS Central Administration RENEGED on our agreement to hold the 12th annual Teaching for Social Justice Curriculum Fair at King HS! However, we insisted on staying in the Mid-South region — the epicenter of the fight against education privatization. So thanks to the support of the King HS principal (Ms. Shontae Higgenbottom), our co-sponsor (the CTU), and Mr. Gregory Jones (Kenwood principal), we have re-located to nearby Kenwood Academy High School. Please help us spread the word.

Being moved like pawns on a chessboard is consistent with how CPS treats the community. We will use this momentary setback as further inspiration to fight for a moratorium on school closings, for a democratic, grassroots, community-driven school transformation process, and for equitable funding for all schools! Show your solidarity, and join together with hundreds of others on Nov. 17th.

And don't forget to PRE-REGISTER at the TSJ website!
