RAHMWATCH: Rahm returns to silly publicity stunts despite continuing and growing outcry for his resignation... 'which includes spay or neuter, immunizations, heartworm test and microchip...'
Chicago's mayor returned to his old ways -- spending taxpayers money in various publicity stunts featuring Rahm Emanuel -- just prior to his departure for Cuba on an "Emanuel family vacation." Above, the press release issued at taxpayer expense, as if the City of Chicago's press office were the mayor's private publicity machine.On roughly the same day that The Nation called for his resignation as mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel returned to his earlier ways by issuing, at taxpayer expense, press releases and propaganda pieces to try and put him back into the headlines. On December 18, 2015, the "Mayor's Press Office" issued a press release proclaiming that Rahm will promote the curing of dog diseases and other problems facing the city's canines.
A day earlier, Rahm did another publicity stunt, this time to announce something called "My Brother's Keeper." But that plan farted when the usually docile students at the masterfully corrupt "Urban Prep" charter high school chanted "16 shots" while Rahm tried to do his usual posing before the cameras. Despite the fact that Rahm and his family will be in Cuba while protests again escalate against the corrupt policies of his administration, Substance can cover the press releases that will continue gushing from the "Mayor's Press Office."
Over the years since Rahm became mayor, the ridiculous activities of the "Mayor's Press Office" have been legendary. Every day or two, for four years, press releases announcing the latest publicity stunt poured forth. Examples included photographs provided by the mayor's press people.
But in December 2015, the attempts went one for two: Rahm struck out at Urban Prep, but managed to get by doing the dog story...

Help Give Homeless Animals a New Leash on Life Downtown on December 18-20, in Rosemont on December 19
The Commission on Animal Care and Control (CACC) is hosting adoption events at two locations this weekend. Holiday shoppers and hockey fans won�t have to look far for adoptable animals!
The public can view adoptable pets from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 18 through Sunday, December 20 at The Shops at North Bridge, 520 North Michigan Avenue. Gift wrapping will also be available, courtesy of the volunteers of Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control, CACC�s non-profit affiliate. On Saturday, December 19, CACC is continuing its partnership with the Chicago Wolves for another Adopt-A-Dog Night at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL. Doors open at 6 p.m.
�We want to make it as easy as possible for people to adopt pets, which is why we hold adoption drives in various locations throughout the year," said Ivan Capifali, Interim CACC Executive Director.
Animals can be adopted at these events for a $65 adoption fee, which includes spay or neuter, immunizations, heartworm test and microchip.
The next Chicago Wolves Adopt-A-Dog Night is Saturday, January 16.
