Huge number of comments on 'Race to the Top' shows widespread public suspicion

When the time for public comment on the Obama administration's so-called 'Race to the Top' education program ended at midnight on August 28, 2009, 1,504 comments had been received on the government's Web site.

Most of those were critical or highly critical of Arne Duncan's proposals for the rest of the nearly $5 billion in federal stimulus money.
