Chicago Teachers Pension Fund to elect teacher and retiree trustees in coming months

Two important elections will be held in October and November 2018, as the Chicago Teachers Pension Fund (CTPF) elects two teacher trustees and one pensioner trustee to its 12-member board. Any teacher member who qualifies (see below) can turn in nominating materials and be on the ballot during the voting period, which is late October through early November. Two will be elected. Voting for teacher trustees will be on line and/or in the schools. Traditionally, the elections of teacher trustees have been held by the school's pension representative (a job separate from the school's CTU delegate).

One pensioner trustee will also be elected by mail ballot during the same period.

The announcement of the elections was published by the CTPF on April 30, 2018:

"CTPF will hold elections for:

• Two (2) Teacher Trustees to serve three-year terms from November 2018-2021 (voting November 1-7, 2018)

• One (1) Pensioner Trustee to fill a vacancy for the term ending November 2019 (voting October 19-November 7, 2018)
