Trump continues to manipulate corporate media with a media circus at his private homes and golf courses during selection of Cabinet...

Donald Trump will become the first American President since William Howard Taft to sport three chins, but the vain President-Elect has been demanding that media stop publishing this photograph of him. Those who had business in Chicago in late 2008 remember that President Elect Barack Obama met with prospective Cabinet members in the federal offices at Dearborn and Jackson in the Loop. Although the meetings required some security, even those of us who had business nearby (at the Board of Education, which at the time was located at 125 S. Clark St.) didn't have to contend with a media circus during the transition from the administration of George W. Bush to Barack Obama. Not so in 2016, with the corporate media in the USA still allowing President Elect Donald Trump to continue the media circus that helped elect him by a narrow margin in the Electoral College (while he lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by more than two million votes -- and still counting).

Trump's media circus is not only being carried out with regards to the selection of Cabinet officers: in the background, Trump and his family are still promoting the various Trump business interests. Those who donated to the 2016 Trump for President Campaign are now receiving solicitations to purchase -- at a "discount" -- "Trump Gear". Trump is also selling a Christmas Tree ornament in the shape of the red "Make America Great Again!" Trump hat.

Donald Trump's businesses have added the "Make America Great Again" Christmas Tree ornament (above) to the "Trump Gear" that the Trump interests are selling. Those who signed up to support Trump's campaign are now getting daily pitches to purchase "Trump Gear" like the featured ornament above. While the number of media critics grows as Trump continues to manipulate most corporate media -- and continues to try to bully some others -- it's possible that the circus atagings that helped elect Trump will abate as the serious business of governance looms. But that's not certain. Trump actually got away with creating a Twitter circus to divert attention from the fact that he admitted that "Trump University" was a fraud by agreeing to settle three lawsuits against him for $25 million. Continuing the chutzpah that has always been a central feature of Trump and his brands, Donald Trump proclaimed that he had only settled for $25 million in the Trump University suits because he was too busy governing. But reports note that Trump and his businesses are facing dozens of other lawsuits, big and small, as Inauguration Day approaches.

One ironic note is that Trump's own frauds may now be dwarfed by the frauds and alleged frauds of the businesses that made Betsy DeVos and her family billionaires. Among other DeVos entities is Amway. More to come.
