trees

Forest Creatures would be one way to describe us. Living breathing

trees of all shapes sizes and complexions, dark Walnut trees rich in

Color, tall straight tough Oakes ,and Birch trees white as the driven snow.

They grew in a little forgotten oasis on Chicagos South Side. Kids passed

Through this oasis on the journey from childhood to maturity, but the trees

remained steady and unmovable. As those who went through the oasis got older

there were stories, real and imagined, about the trees. As trees are want to do

they also got older and finally died. But they left their seeds to mature and grow in

the fertile soil of the oasis. Generations now have passed ,but the oasis of Simeon is still standing. Rest in peace Willie, your job is done.

Errors Here Re Willie Scott Events

This article is in error. The wake for Willie Scott was Thursday, March 17, not Friday as stated here. The memorial at Simeon High School and repast happened today, Friday, March 18. I returned from the memorial several hours ago. It was a moving event with people from all the areas of life touched by "Scotty". The consensus was that he had made his contribution.
