Hundreds block streets and march through the Loop demanding that Rahm resign while Chicago's mayor delivers his phony apology speech inside City Hall...

The sit in outside Chicago's City Hall during the marches and protests demanding the resignation of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on December 9, 2015. Substance photo by Jean Schwab.Hundreds (perhaps more than a thousand) of protesters circled Chicago's City Hall and then marched through the Loop, at time stopping to do a sit-in, demanding that Mayor Rahm Emanuel resign. The march came following revelations of the murderous actions of Chicago police and the mayor's decisions to continue paying millions of dollars in settlements on police brutality complaints.

The protesters, who ranged from those who have routinely objected to Rahm's school policies to office workers who left work to join the crowds, made their point clear for both local and national news on December 9, 2015.

I was one of those at the march with my CTU shirt on, and my grand daughter was with me.

At one point, the group met by Daley Plaza and Washington blocking the whole street t the corner of Clark and Washington.

Although some press reports said "hundreds," there must have been a thousand or more involved in the actions.

When I arrived they were letting a man out of a police truck. Apparently, they decided not to arrest him.

One of the younger among the marchers outside City Hall expressed the majority opinion during the December 9, 2015 activities in Chicago. Substance photo by Jean Schwab. There were a lot of police, but for the most part the encounters between the protesters and police were polite.

The group walked to City Alvarez. After the action at City Hall, the group walked down to Jackson and started west. I was interviewed by the tribune and Sun Times and old them that I came because I saw too many videos that showed people shot for running away. I also told them that I wished this many people would march against the killings done by gangs.
