Full text of indictment of Barbara Byrd Bennett and SUPES officials shows length and depth of the conspiracy of greed at the top of Chicago Public Schools since BBB's arrival in March 2012...

Chicago's two daily newspapers did a credible job of presenting the public with the facts of the shocking federal indictment -- and admissions from at least one of the defendants -- of former Chicago Public Schools "Chief Executive Officer" Barbara Byrd Bennett. The indictment was announced at a federal press conference on October 8, 2015. But as the details of the indictment show, the whole story is still unfolding, and if Byrd Bennett does testify against others who were involved in similar conspiracies and payoffs at CPS, the story could continue for months.

At least, the current information available shows that Byrd Bennett began her illegal activities months before she was officially given the job of "Chief Executive Officer" by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Byrd Bennett was first hired by CPS in early 2012, when the ostensible CEO of the nation's third largest school system was still Jean-Claude Brizard, and when the Chicago Teachers Strike of 2012 (which was the pretext for the dumping of Brizard) was still half a year away.

But emails contained in the federal indictment show that Barbara Byrd Bennett had not even arrived full time in Chicago before she was making arrangements for kickbacks with the officers of the "SUPES Academy", of Wilmette Illinois.
