Letters postponed, blogging expands

By George N. Schmidt

Because this special issue of Substance is devoted to the beginning of analyses of the Chicago Public Schools budget, our Letters pages have been postponed until the regular September edition of this newspaper.

When Substance letters resume publication in September, the same general guidelines that we have always followed will apply. Letters must be signed, and we ask those who write the letters to also provide our readers with e-mail addresses and other identifying information.

In addition to Letters, a number of members of the Substance community have been blogging more and more at District299.com, a very popular place for discussion of issues pertaining to Chicago’s public schools.

Substance is also launching its own blog. See our redesigned Website (www.substancenews.net) and go to the bottom for the link to our blog. We also urge our readers to visit the colleagues with whom we link. 
