'Family and Community Engagement' in action after the school closings vote -- How to stop an 'active shooter'
It's sometimes impossible to satirize the Chicago Board of Education during the years of Rahm Emanuel's administration. The ever expanding CPS bureaucracy under Rahm continues to produce nonsense like the attached to prove that what Chicago needs is more offices of "Family and Community Engagement," "Incubation and Innovation," and "Transformation" to make the schools better. The headline on the poster attached here reads: HOW TO RESPOND WHEN AN ACTIVE SHOOTER IS IN YOUR VICINITY. (You may not be able to read it all clearly because of the creative use of typography and color...).
So... A week after the Board votes to close the schools, FACE produces a ... WTF??!!
The poster distributed by FACT CPS to all schools at the end of May 2013.Fans will remember that City Hall toady Phillip Hampton took over FACE from Jamiko Rose just in time to have CPS postpone the school closing decisions from December and January until May and June (when families will be forced to enroll their kids in charter schools or "Welcoming Schools" because it's too too late to apply for magnet schools). But throughout the hearing and the closing stuff, the question was, What was Hampton doing (other than heading a department full of patronage and draw his own six figure salary)?
Now we know. The last week of May, 2013, FACE shared the attached poster with all schools. While schools are being closed across Chicago's black communities, CPS offers lessons in how to stop an "active shooter."
