Meetings fill activists' calendars daily as CPS faces challenges to its charter schools expansion and closings

Rarely a day goes by now without another protest or community meeting against the school closings planned by the administration of Mayor Rahm Emanuel and his latest schools "Chief Executive Officer," Barbara Byrd Bennett. On December 13, 2012, there is a hearing scheduled at 1245 S. Clark St. on the proposal by CPS to open more charter schools. At the same time, west side activists are holding a meeting on the West Side.
