Chicago teachers hit Penny Pritzker's hypocrisy

In Chicago, Hyatt heiress Penny Pritzker (who hates being called an “heiress,” so: heiress Penny Pritzker, heiress heiress heiress), the 719th richest person in the world according to Forbes, has been showered with tax breaks by Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s government while she sits on the board of the public school system. In fact, she got a $5.2 million tax break for a hotel development while the schools in the immediate vicinity of the proposed development are seeing a proposed budget cut for next year of $3.4 million (“Penny Pritzker’s TIF” http://www.newstips.org/2012/08/penny-pritzkers-tif/ ).

Heiress Penny Pritzker snarls every time she reads the "proof" that schools like Chicago's Hefferan Elementary School, in one of the most challenging sections of the city's West Side, are "failing" according to the Excel and Power Point versions of reality she and her fellow Board members worship. But not one of the seven members of the Board appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel in May 2011 to teacher bash and union bust could last a week working in the classrooms of the women above.
