A rally of more than 150 people on Chicago's north side completed the second day of informational pickets across Chicago on August 21, 2012, the day before the Chicago Board of Education meeting is scheduled to approve a plan to open more than 100 "Scab Schools" at public expense despite citywide support for the Chicago Teachers Union and Chicago's teachers.

People have been filling out the post cards, which will be mailed en masse to him The post card urges him to have the Board negotiate wtih the CTU on items such as class size, fair compensation (not test-based pay), rich curriculum for a better not longer day, and fully resourced schools with social services. At the present time, the Board is refusing to negotiate on any of these major items or have them included in the union's contract.
