AFT REPORTS: Diane Ravitch gets standing ovation after rousing speech to AFT convention

Schmidt.Historian Diane Ravitch was introduced to the delegates to the American Federation of Teachers convention by union president Randi Weingarten as a long-time friend of public education and the uinon, and from the opening of her speech, Ravitch did not disappoint the delegates. She began her speech with a lengthy shout out to the cities where she has spoken to the delegates since the 2010 publication of her groundbreaking book "The death and life of the great American school system."
