SUBSCRIPT: Back Issues of Substance show history of fight against schools closings, charter expansions

Although Substance has only been on line for ten years (our tenth anniversary on line will come in March 2012), back issues of Substance have helped document the struggles against school closings and the predations of charter schools since the massive charter schools expansion began during the administration of Arne Duncan in 2002. For example, the April 2006 edition of Substance, which is available in PDF, covered many of the protests from that year, including the huge turnout against the closing of Collins High School. That edition is available only in PDF format at: http://www.substancenews.com/04-06_issue.pdf

Since June 2007, Substance has been on line at www.substancenews.net.

The shift of the Substance website came because the Substance budget is so small that we could not afford to bring over all of the back issues that had gone on line at the "old" site between March 2002 and June 2007. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but anyone who wants to donate a relatively large amount to the purpose of putting every story from Substance on line at our current web address can do so by contacting Substance (Csubstance@aol.com) or using the "Click Here to Donate" button on the right.
