'Too Big to Fail' satirizes Rahm Emanuel's mayoral bid with You Tube music video

In a move reminiscent of the campaign against having Olympics 2016 come to Chicago, a local Chicago band has posted on You Tube a song named "Too Big to Fail" dedicated to the whole story of Rahm Emanuel's mayoral campaign and its relationship to things Hollywood, North Shore, and Global Economy. Readers our urged to stop by and then Comment on their favorite line. So far -- "When my family wants Thai food I take them to Thailand..."

The chorus goes: "I got Hollywood cash, I'm too big to fail..."

Although Chicago does not yet have a movement dedicated to the Rahm Emanuel campaign that harkens back to the movement that was built to respond to Mayor Daley's attempt to do Olympics 2016 on Chicago, the sound of the Emanuel song has a flashbacks quality too it. Was it produced by the same group? News to follow, perhaps in Comments.

So, as Substance readers return to schools (unless they need buses or the parking lots are unplowed), take a moment for "Too Big To Fail."

By the end of the day on February 4, 2011, the video was getting hundreds of hits per hour, despite the fact that the Chicago Board of Education's computers (including the computers at the school where the singer's daughter attends) cannot access You Tube. Computer experts are working on alternative sites for the video and song, so that the Murbarak style censorship of Terry Mazany doesn't continue to block one of the most important cultural products of the current Chicago political cycle.

Thanks for bringing the song to our attention. The link wasn't successful but I got to it by typing "Too Big to Fail" and Rahm's name in the search bar. The name isn't enough because there is a book with the same name. The students did a wonderful job!!

Rahm is Yoda

While watching a Rahm campaign ad earlier, my 6 year old son asked me "Why does Yoda want to be mayor?" Too funny...

rahm's health

Campaigning makes one tired, but he really does not look healthy. Is this a concern?
