Largest turnout in years for CTU LEAD dinner energizes last days of Campaign 2010
With nearly 1,000 people filling the cavernous hall of Operating Engineers Local 399 on Friday night, October 29, 2010, the Chicago Teachers Union's annual LEAD (Legislators Educators Appreciation Dinner) dinner energized campaign workers, union members, community leaders, and politicians for the last five days of campaigning in the heated 2010 political races. Among the speakers at the LEAD dinner were Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, Secretary of State Jesse White, and several others.
During a rush in the final week before LEAD, ticket sales were increasing.
