Substance Web traffic was highest in history in most categories in August 2010

Traffic at www.substancenews.net reached the highest levels in history in three of the four main statistical categories covered by the independent "Site Stats" that are compiled as the site is running by our Web host, Network Solutions. Highest in history numbers were compiled in Unique Visitors, Pages, and Total Pages. The total Hits for the month was the second highest in history, at 540,069. The only month that had a greater number of Total Hits was June 2010, when Substance was reporting exclusively on the Chicago Teachers Union election and the June 11 runoff.

The numbers recorded in Site Stats were as follows: Unique Visitors, 9,338; Visits, 20,431; Pages, 61,596; Total Hits: 545,069.

For the year since January 1, 2010, Substance has had 39,755 Unique Visitors; 101,476 Visits; 404,526 Pages; and 3,607,100 Total Hits.

The final day of August 2010, August 31, saw Substance getting 666 visitors, "a very good omen" according to some of the editors.

Substance resumes print publication on September 9, 2010. With the publication of the September 2010 print edition, Substance enters its 36th year of publication. A subscription drive will begin later in September, but those who wish to receive the print edition by mail can subscribe using the red button on the right. Donations (the blue button) are always appreciated.

Advertisements are now being sold jointly for print and on the Web. Those interested in advertising at Substance (www.substancenews.net and in the monthly print edition) should email to Csubstance @aol.com and put the words ADVERTISE in the Subject line. 
