Substance website gets 110,000 hits in two days

The Substance website www.substancenews.net had 110,074 hits in two days (May 21 and May 22, 2010) without using the word SEX in any headlines and without trying to use any other Google search tricks to up the number of "eyeballs" focusing on Substance. On May 21, 2010, Substance had 48,830 hits. On May 22, 2010, Substance had 61,244 hits. To my mind, the hard work of all Substance reporters in providing readers with accurate information is what made this possible. As the final weeks of school begin in Chicago and around the country, that accuracy will be maintained.

One problem is that Internet hits have not been translating into Substance revenue, and that some readers are having trouble subscribing to our print edition (our main source of revenue) on lint. Those who wish to subscribe to Substance and who can't do it on line can send a check for $16 (or a donation for more) overland by snail mail to: Substance, 5132 W. Berteau, Chicago, IL 60641. A one year subscription is still $16.
