Dr. John Kugler editing Substance
Substance editor John KuglerLong-time reporter John Kugler is now editing Substance. He took over the online news service in June 2020.
Substance, both as a subscription-paid, monthly newspaper for nearly 40 years and as an online news service, was founded by teacher and union activist George N. Schmidt. George edited Substance until his death in September 2018.
This reporter served as editor from September 2018 until May 2020, when John Kugler agreed to take over.
