National Day of Action at City Hall December 9, 4:15 p.m.
Chicago parents, teachers, students and community leaders will be at Chicago's City Hall on December 9, 2013, to sing holiday songs and protest the school privatization and closing policies of the national administration and locally, the administration of former White House Chief of Staff (and current Chicago mayor) Rahm Emanuel. The action is sponsored by: Chicago Teachers Union, Grassroots Education Movement, Action Now, Kenwood Oakland Community Organization, Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, Pilsen Alliance, Stand Up Chicago, Albany Park Neighborhood Council, Logan Square Neighborhood Association, Northside Action for Justice, Jobs With Justice, Teachers for Social Justice.
According to a Chicago Teachers Union press release:
"Chicago Teachers Union and coalition of community partners in National Day of Action to Reclaim the Promise of Public Education... National Day of Action activities planned in 30 cities in the United States of America. Raise public awareness about public education issues and needs, and demand action by public officials.
Expected Turnout: 500 Chicago Public School teachers, parents, community residents

Deliver cards and unfurl a large banner/wish list to the Governor and state elected officials
