Thank you for your kind words

June 2016Below are some of the comments made on Facebook, by email and on the online guest book Legacy. We're grateful for all of them. We hope those who haven't commented will do so.

September 17 at 9:58 AM · My old comrade George Schmidt died. We worked together for years in a tiny collective in Chicago in the late 70s. He outgrew that but kept up his work organizing public school teachers and giving the powers that be hell through his paper, Substance News (which was aimed at substitute teachers, originally). We did disagree a bunch, but he taught me a lot and he was a lifer. His life and heart were with the working class. Red rose/red salute

September 17 at 5:21 PM · An old friend of mine passed away and I'm bummed. Oh, I haven't seen George Schmidt since the 1970s, but he meant more to me than most that I came across in that turbulent period. He taught me about how to go into the good fight. I never forgot. And, while George was one of the people that I lost touch with over the years, George kept up the struggle and I was proud of him. I'm gonna miss him greatly.
