'Star' CPS principal announces support for Chuy Garcia, issues five minute critique of Rahm Emanuel's education agenda
A celebrity CPS principal has issued a stinging assessment of the education agenda announced earlier in January by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Troy LaRaviere, a well-respected district principal who according to the Garcia campaign's promotional materials "gets results," presented a "Point by point" video response to the Mayor, and explained how his policies have hurt our children.

In a press release, the Garcia campaign states that "LaRaviere is a rising star among CPS principals," without mentioning the fact that LaRaviere's school is not in danger of any sanctions because of the middle class children and community it serves. The Garcia campaign also reports that LaRaviera is "of only seven to be awarded one of the top two Chicago Principal Merit Award Bonuses in both the first and second years of the award. In addition to nearly a dozen years as a public educator, LaRaviere is a US Navy veteran..."
A video entitled "Point by Point" featuring LaRaviere was produced by the campaign to elect Jesus "Chuy" Garcia for Mayor of Chicago.
