Scab Hollywood star Viola Davis to face pickets during Chicago Film Festival for her role in the union busting movie 'Won't Back Down'

A number of individuals and groups have begun planning to picket the appearance of scab actress Viola Davis, who co-starred in the union busting movie "Won't Back Down," when Davis appears in Chicago for the Chicago International Film Festival on October 24. Davis is scheduled to be a highlight celebrity for the festival, and union teachers and others are planning to begin a national campaign to hold her and Hollywood accountable for the scripts they follow and the union busting propaganda they produce.

The 48th Chicago International Film Festival is taking place now, beginning on October 12. The festival has announced that Viola Davis will be in town on October 22: "Black Perspectives Tribute

9:00 PM – 11:00 PM Reception, Mon 10/22 • 7:00 PM"

Most of the festival, which began on October 12, consists of movies from around the world.

"We have a truly impressive list of guests attending the 48th Chicago International Film Festival!" the festival has announced. "As we welcome directors from around the world to be part of our Festival history, we encourage Festival-goers to visit our website and read our daily Festival newsletters for updates on who is schedule to attend. The post-screening discussions with directors, conversations with our honorees and red carpet arrivals are not to be missed, and all will be held at the Festival theater of AMC River East, 322 E. Illinois!..."

Plans will be moving forward for the "red carpet" arrivals of those who have participated in the production of union-busting propaganda and attacks on public education during the past couple of years.
